Concept

Visually impaired people rely most of the time on their ability to see when they use buildings. Education is personal and it is the transition from darkness to light, where light represents knowledge. The concept of the school of enlightenment is based on bringing light into the building in order to help visually impaired children navigating within the building by casting shadows on the floor.

The school targets children from 6-11 years old.

Adequate lighting is therfore the most important feature to take into consideration when designing the school.
